Leigh Ann Towne I moved from the Great Lakes State to the Mountain State in June of 2005, when I became the Morning Anchor for WTRF This Morning. Just one year after getting settled into the morning position, I was promoted to my current position as anchor for 5p.m., 6p.m. and 11p.m. shows with Jim Forbes. We also anchor FOX Ohio Valley's 10p.m. newscast.

As the youngest daughter of Gary and Deb Towne of Six Lakes, Michigan, my love for attention and the spotlight was a natural one! My days at Lakeview Community Schools were spent twirling baton, on the softball field, volleyball court, running the pep squad and putting every inch of my school spirit into being the Wildcat's mascot, Wildfire. I even knocked out my front teeth in volleyball practice my Freshman year! Since the fifth grade, I knew that I wanted to spend my life in front of the camera as a "news lady".

I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2000, with a major in Broadcasting and a minor in Spanish. My education continued at Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts, where I won the "Outstanding On Air Talent Award". After interning at WDIV Channel 4 in Detroit, I was hired at WEYI in Flint, Michigan where I spent 4 years as an Anchor/Reporter.

One of my favorite jobs, however, was working with my Best Friend, Tina, at Six Flag's Great America in Gurnee, Illinois. I worked as an improvisational actress/waitress in an interactive restaurant called, "The Crazy Buffalo Saloon." Everybody had a character and I was "Vivian Leigh Ann", the Sheriff's daughter. On a daily basis I would throw diners in a jail with rubber bars and burst into song out of nowhere!

When I am not in front of the camera, I'm usually found combing Clearance racks at thrift stores or Gabriel Brothers. I can sniff out a bargain with the best of them.

In May of 2009, my boyfriend of nearly 12 years and I, headed back to the campus of Central Michigan University to tie the knot and make it official. We share our Wheeling home with two cats, Pirate and Journey.

I have a soft spot for animals and a love for collecting "Wizard of Oz" memorabilia. You could say I was "Over the Rainbow" when I got to meet three of the living munchkins in May of 2009!

On the weekends you can also find me bowling, shooting pool or tackling something crafty.

Thanks for making me feel right at home Ohio Valley!
