Man arrested after high speed chase spans two counties

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. (WTRF) - A Moundsville man was arrested Thursday morning after leading police on a high speed chase spanning two counties.

Wheeling Police had attempted to make a traffic stop on I-70 Westbound, where they learned that the driver, 37-year-old Edward Fyock of Moundsville, had several warrants out for his arrest.

Before officers could check the warrants and get Fyock out of the car, he sped off west into Ohio. Fyock reportedly reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour during the chase.

Wheeling Police ended the pursuit in Belmont County.

According to officials, Fyock ditched his car in Lansing and hid from officers.

Officers are currently in the process of filing a warrant for his arrest.

Fyock is being held in Belmont County on those charges waiting to be extradited back into West Virginia.
