One Mason County school is welcoming a new principal, just days before summer vacation.
Roger Keefer was recently named principal of Point Pleasant High school. He replaces Rick Northup who was charged with driving under the influence earlier this year.
Keefer is a lifelong resident of Mason County and has been an educator in Mason County schools for 32 years. He says the new position is one he calls refreshing.
"My two main goals are to keep high academic standards for college bound students and reach out to those having trouble getting through school," said Roger Keefer, Principal, Pt. Pleasant high school.
Keefer says the upcoming school year will bring a lot of changes. Construction and renovations on the high school start this summer.
