The Point Pleasant community is mourning the loss of a stand-out student and athlete.
17-year-old Jarod Stouffer died Wednesday morning at a hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was a senior at Point Pleasant High School, who was co-captain of the football team and ran track. Stouffer had been sick for several weeks and was just diagnosed with Leukemia Friday.
PPHS Football coach Steve Safford called Stouffer a model student and athlete, one who was being recruited by Princeton University.
Funeral arrangements are not yet complete.
