Veteran Ohio Congressman Bob Ney had agreed to plead guilty to two counts, conspiracy and making false statements. Each charge carries a 5 year mandatory penalty but justice officials say if Ney goes along with all requirements of the plea, he will get a 27 month sentence. An investigation has been underway for many months into Ney's alleged ties and dealings involving disgraced lobbyist lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Abramoff pleaded guilty to providing lawyers with Super Bowl Tickets and other gifts in return for legislative favors. It's not known if the Congressman will give up his house seat. Just this summer Ney announced he would not seek re-election because of the stress this investigation has had on his family. 7 News has placed calls to Ney's lawyers in Washington, Mark Tuohey and William Lawler but have not gotten any calls back .Stay with 7 News for further details on this developing story.
