Davis and Elkins College student needs a bone marrow transplant.
By J. Turchetta
A student at Davis and Elkins College needs your help. Carrie Egress, a junior at D-and-E, was diagnosed with leukemia. Her only hope, a bone marrow transplant. But none of her family members are a bone marrow match, and the college is asking you to step up.
It is sponsoring a bone marrow drive on April 5th, from 10 a-m to 3 p-m at the D-and-E Student Life Building.
They will collect samples of blood to try to find a match for Egress. The cost is 25 dollars for the first 70 donors.
If you have any questions you can contact Terri Egress, Carrie's mother at 304-472-3788.
Carrie's mother says while her daughter isn't dangerously ill yet, now is the time to try to find a bone marrow match.
Egress is still very active despite her illness. She is the pitcher for the Davis and Elkins Softball team.
