McMechen Police Chief George Paugh said drugs are a growing problem.

There are certain areas of the city he's watching, and one of which is a section of Caldwell Street near 12th Street.

"They keep coming into town and we keep arresting them. Sooner or later, they're going to get the message that we don't want them in this town. So, we're keying in on these areas. So, if you're coming into town in these areas that are drug areas or a lot of activity is going on in that area, we're keying in on that," said Paugh.

Because of increased patrols, Paugh said his officers arrested 23-year-old Bobbi Jo Dennis. She is wanted in North Carolina and Virginia on felony charges.

Dennis is being held in the Northern Regional Jail and awaiting an extradition hearing to Virginia.
