West Virginia State Police are working to help parents protect their children. They're hoping to change the sex offender registry to include the exact addresses of registered offenders. Currently the registry only gives names and general locations of lifetime sex offenders. Lifetime offenders include anyone who has been convicted of acts against a child, has multiple convictions or who the court has deemed violent or a sexual predator. The proposed law change is available for public comment. The state police are asking for opinions. They can be reached by writing to:
West Virginia State Police, Planning and Research Section, 725 Jefferson Road, South Charleston, WV 25309
