MORGANTOWN -- The West Virginia Mountaineers have two games left this season, and they know one of those games will be against Pitt and the oher potentially could be the National Championship game.
Those also could be the final two games of Steve Slaton's college career.
Slaton has an impressive resume: The junior is WVU's career rushing touchdown leader at 50 and counting. He also is the NCAA active career touchdown leader with 55.
Slaton has topped the century rushing mark in a game 21 times in 31 starts.
He also holds the single-season rushing record at WVU, and the accolades go on and on.
Slaton said he will test the NFL waters and that he has filled out his paperwork to be evaluated by NFL scouts.
That does not bind him to anything with the NFL or put his college career in jeopardy. It is the first step for an underclassmen to determine how he might line up in the NFL draft.
