BELLAIRE, Ohio -- The re-alignment of State Route 149 near Bellaire could disturb hibernating bats, if not done in a timely manner, officials said.
Before the State Route 149 project can get into full swing, the re-location of a habitat for the endangered species of bat has to take place.
The $62,000 project includes cutting down trees in the way of the road project. The job has to get done before the bats come out of their caves and roost in the trees.
Official told 7News, this way the bats won't move into the trees only to have their habitat cut down while they are in it.
The 1.4 mile project should be completed by 2009 or ten.
