Former Principal In Court On Murder Charges

A preliminary hearing is helf for a convicted sex offender and former principal in Fayette County, now charged with murder.

Edgar Friedrichs is accused in the murder of 12-year-old Jeremy Bell in 1997.

Friday, Judge John Hatcher heard confidential material in the case behind closed doors.

Bell was on a fishing trip with Friedrichs at the man's cabin in Thurmond, when he died of a drug overdose.

Friedrichs had been Jeremy Bell's principal and teacher at Beckwith Elementary School.

His trial is set to begin on July 25th.
