WHEELING -- Mark Bowman of MLB.COM predicts the Cleveland Indians will win the 2008 World Series and gain a bit of redemption over the Braves from the 1995 series.
"I'm a believer. I just like their pitching rotation, their lineup and depth," said Bowman, who was born and raised in Wheeling. "I love their bullpen with (Rafael)Perez and (Rafael) Bettencourt before closer Joe Borowski."
And like a good "homer", Bowman likes his Braves to win the N-L East, and feels the Brewers can win the Central--even though he like the Reds. The Rockies and Diamondbacks will battle all season in the N-L West, but Bowman believes the D-Backs will win the division, and the Rockies win the wild card.
Bowman likes the Red Sox to win the A-L East and the Mariners to take the West.
Mark Bowman's predictions for 2008:
AL Central-INDIANS
AL East-RED SOX
AL West-MARINERS
AL Wildcard- YANKEES
NL Central-BREWERS
NL East-BRAVES
NL West-DIAMONDBACKS
NL Wildcard-ROCKIES
World Series: INDIANS over BRAVES
