Authorities say he was ejected.

CARROLL COUNTY, OHIO -- According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Arthur Gremminger was driving his 2003 Polaris Sportsman all-terrain vehicle on the roadway Tuesday night.

He was traveling Eastbound on State Route 183 when he hit the end of a guardrail.

After traveling a little further, he hit a mailbox.

The man was ejected from the ATV and landed in the right side of the road.

Authorities believe that alcohol was a factor in this incident.

Gremminger was not wearing a helmet.

ATVs are not permitted on roadways.
