The 40th meeting between Louisville and Kentucky goes down to the wire. Louisville's Edgar Sosa hit a long three-point shot with two seconds left to give Louisville a 74-71 victory over their in-state rival.
Kentucky trailed by four points with 30 seconds remaining when Patterson blocked and picked off an in-bounds pass by Louisville, Patterson passed the ball over to Jodie Meeks for the lay up which cut Louisville's lead to two. Louisville turned it over again on the in-bounds pass, Meeks picked up the errant pass and was fouled while going in for a game tying layup. Meeks connected on both free throws to tie the game at 71.
Kentucky's Patrick Patterson finished with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Jodie Meeks led the Wildcats in scoring with 28 points. Patterson and Meeks combined for 50 of Kentucky's 71 points.
Louisville snaps Kentucky's six game winning streak, the Wildcats fall to 11-4. Kentucky will host Vanderbilt this Saturday at 2:00 p.m..
