TRIADELPHIA -- Shoppers didn't have to go far to snag those holiday bargains, but was the Highlands their choice to grab those gifts?
Ohio County Commission President Randy Wharton said even though the development is experiencing the same pinch from the national economy that's being felt everywhere, overall the numbers for the stores say differently, and they are in no way a mirror image.
"I've seen numbers from November on sales and they're astronomical, and I think that's a tribute to the tenants that are there, it's a very good mix of recession proof tenants,” said Wharton.
Wharton said that like many developers right now, they are having a tough time reeling in new tenants.
