Jefferson County -- A brush fire near the Belmont and Jefferson County line forced one lane of State Route 7 to shutdown this afternoon as flames and smoke shot across the highway.
When 7 News and wtrf.com showed up flames could been shooting from the roadway in Yorkville.
The four alarm fire sent crews from Tiltonsville, Yorkville, Rayland and Martins Ferry to dowse the blaze.
The flames broke out just before 2pm. The Jefferson County 911 says dry conditions have led to a number of brush fires around the county today.
