There are plans to build the theme park on the land near Indigo Joes.

Wheeling -- The final permit for the Wild Escape Theme Park at the Highlands is ready to go.
The permit deals with the water quality for the project.
According to Ohio County Administrator Greg Stewart, there were those who were trying to appeal the permit which was delaying the development process of the Wild Escape project.
Stewart said the appeal was denied by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection.
Stewart is waiting on the certification letter from the West Virginia D.E.P. stating the appeal was denied and the county can begin work.
"There were some people who wrote to the D.E.P. questioning some issues in the permit," said Stewart.
"D.E.P. I believe did not find enough detail in there saying they were due an appeal so they denied it."
There are plans to build the theme park on the land near Indigo Joes. Work could start in the summer.
