WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA -- Pennsylvania State Police were called to the scene of a home in Washington County on Saturday after three children found what appeared to be a human skull.
According to reports, the skull was placed on a tree stump in a yard in South Franklin Township.
The skull has been sent to a forensic anthropologist at Mercyhurst College, but the Washington County coroner says he believes the skull is authentic.
No other bones were found in the area and the skull did not appear to have any signs of trauma.
Police continue the investigation.
