CHARLESTON, WV -- As some teens kick up their heals and enjoy summer, others are hard at work, looking for a healthier tomorrow for their peers and those who are a bit younger.
Oak Glen student Brandon Churchill, is one of hundreds of teens attending Raze on 2009 at the University of Charleston from June 14-16.
It's a West Virginia teen-led tobacco prevention movement. Churchill lost his stepfather as a result of second hand smoke, he said.
The annual even recaps the program's school year and empowers students to continue their goal of exposing the lies of the tobacco industry.
Roughly 25% of West Virginia high school students smoke and 2,700 youth begin smoking every year, according to the events news release.
