MORGANTOWN -- Basketball season is fast approaching. You will get your first look at the WVU men's and women's basketball teams this Friday night at Mountaineer Madness.
Both head coaches and some of their players met with the media on Wednesday.
Bob Huggins and the Mountaineers are expected to begin the season ranked in the top ten. WVU lost just one senior and that was Alex Ruoff. They return a ton of talent and have a solid group of newcomers.
Some national publications believe WVU can win the Big East and possibly reach the final four.
Huggins said he hopes the Mountaineers are in this situation every year.
What a difference a year makes for the women's basketball team. Head Coach Mike Carey can look around the room and see a group of healthy Mountaineers.
At times last season they were forced to play just six players. That gave a lot of young players the chance to build up some experience.
Now Coach Carey is looking at a pretty deep bench with plenty of talent.
