WEST LIBERTY -- Wes Liberty senior Eddie Hills has been selected as one of the West Virginia Conference Offensive Players of the Week.
Hills and West Virginia Wesleyan running back Reggie Taylor as recipients of this week's award.
Hills, the 5-10, 175 pound senior from Palmetto, Florida caught ten passes for 175 yards as West Liberty clinched their first outright WVIAC title since 1971 with a 48-21 win over Seton Hill.
Hills also became the career leader in all-purpose yardage in West Liberty history with 4,865 yards as a Topper and pushed his career reception total to 159 and needs only two more catches to equal the school record in that category.
Hills is just one of many weapons that leads one of the nation's most prolific offensive attacks. Quarterback Zach Amedro, who won the WVIAC Offensive Player of the Week Award four times this season, leads the nation with 37 touchdown passes and has broken virtually every school passing record as a junior. West Liberty receivers Kashif Walls and Willie Walker have also won the Offensive Player of the Week Award this season.
The No.12 ranked Hiltoppers close out the regular season with a home date against Concord next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Russek Field.
As for Taylor, the senior celebrated his final home game by carrying the ball 37 times for 176 yards and three touchdowns in Wesleyan's 28-0 win over West Virginia State.
