WHEELING -- Julian Berisford is now home.
The body of the 25-year-old Moundsville native arrived Thursday morning at the Wheeling-Ohio County Airport.
The plane touched down at 9:02 a.m.
Berisford’s wife was on the plane with him.
A large crowd of family, friends, military personnel and veterans welcomed him on the tarmac.
A motorcade escorted by the Patriot Guard, law enforcement and family on state Route 2 to Moundsville.
Funeral arrangements have been set.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 14 and from noon to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville.
Funeral services and “A Celebration of His Life” will be held on Nov. 16 beginning at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rob Berk officiating.
Interment will be at the family's private family lot on Fisher’s Lane, Benwood, where full military graveside honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army.
Berisford, 25, was a 2002 John Marshall High School graduate and was killed while serving in Afghanistan after enlisting in the Army in February 2007.
He was a specialist with the 509th Infantry.
