NEW MARTNSVILLE -- An accident on state Route 89 on Macedonia Ridge leaves one man in serious condition.

The man had to be airlifted to a Pittsburgh Hospital, authorities said. The accident happened near Yoho farm, Wetzel County.

The vehicle he was driving is a heavy piece of equipment. Eyewitnesses say the road collapsed near the shoulder, flipping the vehicle.

The Silver Hill Volunteer Fire Department responded around 6:30 p.m.
