NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Steubenville quarterback Dwight Macon led a furious second half comeback as Big Red advanced to the Ohio Division III Region 11 championship game with a 34-10 win over Salem at Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium.
Salem led 10-6 at the half.
Macon ran for 203 yards and scored four touchdowns, and the defense came alive too, as Steubenville outscored the Quakers 28-0 in the second half. Macon was seven of 11 through the air for 103 yards.
Big Red (11-1) will battle No.2 Dover (11-1), a 28-21 winner over Canal Fulton Northwest, in next week's regional final.
The game will be played on Friday night at Fawcett Stadium in Canton.
