QUAKER CITY, Ohio -- A Pennsylvania woman is recovering in a Pittsburgh hospital after an accident Saturday night on Interstate 70.
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, Shorouq Alsoud, 21, of Imperial, Pa., was driving East on Interstate 70 near Old Washington, Oh., at 9:40 p.m. Saturday.
Police said that's when Alsoud drove across the median into the westbound lane and struck the rear trailer of a double semi.
The semi ran over the front of the vehicle and trapped Alsoud.
Crews freed her and she was later flown by medical helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She remains in stable condition after suffering a fracture in her neck and three broken fingers.
The officer said the investigation is ongoing.
