There are no easy answers to the question of how to protect West Virginia’s kids from sexual predators.
It seems like every other day we hear another horrible story about a child becoming a victim of sexual abuse. Parents are frightened and authorities are looking for a way to respond. Now, Republicans in the state legislature say they want a new law that will impose criminal penalties even tougher than most murder sentences for anyone who sexually assaults a child. On the latest episode of Decision Makers Delegate Kelli Sobonya (R-Cabell) explained why she’s pushing the bill. One of the state’s top criminal defense lawyers, Gregory Campbell, discussed the potential problems he sees in the new hard-line proposal.
