WHEELING -- Tuesday night, hundreds gathered at Generations Pub in Wheeling for the first ever Upper Ohio Valley Parrot Heads meeting.
The newly formed group will hold open meetings the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for interested parties and the media.
The organization is working to promote a better community by helping different organizations in the Ohio Valley.
Upper Ohio Valley Parrot Head President Doug Sarkis said the group's primary cause is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, but Tuesday they were working to help the Ohio County Animal Shelter and Catholic Charities.
"They party with a purpose and the purpose is primarily charity work and trying to raise money you know working with charities in the community," said Sarkis.
Sarkis who started the group has a 2-year-old grandson who has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. If you'd like to be a Parrot Head or get involved contact Doug Sarkis at 304-280-5758.
