Ohio County Prosecutor Scott Smith says Patrick Zetka was arrested and taken into custody.
WHEELING -- DNA evidence gotten from clothing that a bank robbery suspect allegedly discarded on the bank of the Ohio River has led authorities to a different suspect.
Ohio County Prosecutor Scott Smith said 29 year-old Patrick Zetka of Brownsville, Pa was arrested on federal charges by the FBI and taken into custody today for the robbery of the Wheeling Island Wesbanco Branch that occurred on August 11, 2009.
As a result of this new information, the Ohio County Proscutor's office has requested the charges against Rickey L. Henry Jr. be dismissed.
Authorities say Henry was alleged to have robbed the Wheeling Island Branch August after a bank teller indicated that Henry was seen pacing back and forth before entering the bank.
Authorities say it was alleged that Henry jumped over the counter shoving and knocking the other counter person to the ground. Authorities also say Henry was later positively identified in a photo line-up.
But Prosecutor Smith says the DNA evidence recently discovered did not match Rickey Henry's but matched the suspect Patrick Zetka.
Zetka is now in the Northern Regional Jail.
Smith said cases like this are not too common for Ohio County, and tributes the success of this case to law enforcement for not not giving up.
