Wheeling Police conduct an underage alcohol sales compliance check of more than 30 businesses.

WHEELING -- The Wheeling Police Department is crediting 30 area businesses for keeping alcohol out of the hands of underage kids.
The department conducted an underage alcohol sales compliance check over the weekend, and all but two businesses passed with flying colors, officials said.
The two stores that failed are the Woodsdale Exxon on National Road and the Washington Avenue Exxon, according to police.
The following stores did not sell alcohol without checking identification during the compliance check:
• A&J Corner Market, Indiana St. • Island Exxon, Zane St. • Smoker Friendly’s Liquor Plus, South Huron • Gumby’s, South Wabash • Gumby’s, South Huron • Convenient Food Mart, South Huron • Warwood Exxon • Rite Aid Pharmacy, Warwood Ave. • Smoker Friendly, Warwood Ave. • Kroger, Warwood Ave. • The Corner Connection, Warwood Ave. • BFS Foods, North River Rd. (closed) • Convenient Food Mart, Main Street • 7 Eleven Stores, Market St. • Schmidt Bros., Eoff St. • Duggers, 29th St. • Neeley’s Grocery, Wood St. • Convenient Food Mart, 16th St. • Kroger, Mt. De Chantal Rd. • CVS, National Rd. • Convenient Food Mart, Washington Ave. • Gumby’s, National Rd. • Rite Aid Pharmacy, Kruger St. • Elm Grove Carry Out • BFS Foods Marathon, National Rd. • Riesbeck Food Market, Elm Grove • River Road Cafe
