Five people were injured when the porch collapsed.

WHEELING -- Investigators will be on the scene of a porch collapse again today.

Fire Chief Larry Helms said a preliminary investigation reveals there was no prior knowledge of structural problems at that residence.

Authorities said five people were hanging out on the back porch after 8 p.m. last night.

They all suffered injuries.

The people living in the home can not stay there since building inspectors said it's unsafe. The utilities were also shut off.

Helms said despite renters saying the landlord knew about the problem, no prior violations were filed with the code enforcement division.

the city of wheeling is falling apart at the seams

doesn't take a genius building inspector to condemn half the structures at a glance!

just walk along the river and look uP at the ancient wooden porch overlooking the river, must be 80 years old, I'd not step foot on it! lol
