MOUNDSVILLE -- The Power of 32 invites people in this region to grab hold of their own destiny.

It looks at quality of life, transportation, environment, education, energy, infrastructure, health, technology and many more aspects of life in this Appalachian region.

"By 2025, all these counties and all these leaders are going to work together to make something really big happen," said Jason Henry of Power of 32. "It will make a really positive impact on this region like nothing that's ever been done before."

Those attending included a sheriff, a mayor, an economic development expert and citizens.

They were encouraged to list the strong points as well as the challenges of the area.

They say they will keep and document this input, to develop a shared vision and a collaborative agenda.

"This is important for Marshall County and every county in the 32-county region, to have their voice heard," said Stacie Dei, executive director of the Marshall County Family Resource Network, which hosted the event. "So it's not decisions being made for Marshall County, but we're actually a part of the process."

They urge everyone to visit www.powerof32.org and participate online.

They say there will be more community conversations in other counties in the days and weeks to come.
