Three-Time Super Bowl Winner, Huntington Resident, Ponders Future
By Sean McDowell
Will he or won't he?
New England Patriots Wide Receiver tells 13 Sports in an exclusive interview that he isn't ruling out retiring from the National Football League.
Brown was one of the guests of honor at Saturday's home opener for the Huntington Heroes, a new indoor football franchise playing at Veterans Memorial Field House.
Brown is a Huntington resident, and played his college football at Marshall before turning pro in 1993.
The 13-year NFL veteran has helped the Patriots win three Super Bowl Championships, most recently at Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005.
"I leave all my doors open," Brown told 13 Sports. "I don't sweat it anymore. Whatever happens, happens. If I decide to go back, I decide to go back."
Brown says that friends from other teams have asked him to join them in other cities, but he said New England is his team of preference.
"Who knows?" Brown said on Saturday. "I'm (in Huntington, WV) right now, just enjoying my kids and my family and everyone back in this community. If the phone rings, it rings."
