Powhatan, Ohio -- Officials say Victor Lynn Stevens, 43, of Powhatan Point was released from the Ohio Valley Medical Center Monday night and taken to the Northern Regional Jail.

Officials at Ohio Valley Medical Center say that Stevens was listed in good condition after being stabbed last week during an alleged rape.

Stevens is accused of entering a home, on Mount Victory Road in Powhatan, with a knife, assaulting a teenage neighbor, until she retrieved the knife and stabbed him in the upper chest.

He was tracked down by police and taken to OVMC and kept under armed guard.

Stevens is facing charges of felonious assault, rape, and aggravated burglary.

His bond has not been set. He will have to appear before an Ohio County Circuit Court Judge for an extradition hearing. That hearing has not been set.

Sheriff Thompson is right-on in his statement that 'you cannot rehabilitate sexual predators'. If they are capable of sexually abusing a child once, they will do it again and again! Anyone who has ever been sexually abused as a child, the best thing that you can do, to protect other children, is to report your abuse to law enforcement. No matter how long ago the abuse happened.

Don't assume that your perpatrater can NOT be prosecuted, and don't assume that he/she can NOT be kept far away from kids.

Laws are changing, and the police are becoming more aware of this overwhelming problem of adults sexually abusing kids.

Pedophiles appear to be nice people who plan, groom, befriend, stalk, manipulate, and then they will take huge risks to get to their prey.

I agree, DWOOD. He would never survive the short journey to the middle of Powhatan though. We need stronger laws and harsher punishments regarding abuse and rape. I hope he gets what's coming to him in prison.

They should string this guy up in the middle of Powhatan and let the public stone him to death.

It is worderful that girl had the courage to take control of the situation when she had the chance!! Alot of people would have been frozen with fear. It is a shame the knife didn't get him in the throat!!!! It was said eariler that he is already a registered sex offender , who was let back out in the world to strike again! The laws need to change, he should not have had the chance!!!
