Stabbing Sends Clarington Teenager To Hospital

A stabbing in Clarington overnight sent one teenager to an area hospital.

CLARINGTON, Ohio -- A stabbing in Clarington, Ohio, injured a teenager Monday night.

According to Monroe County Sheriff Charles Black, Eric Gibson , 19, of Clarington, was at the BP gas station in Clarington, when the suspect, Charles McQuire, 21, approached him.

During an altercation, Gibson allegedly was struck once in the arm and once in the back.

Initially Gibson thought he had been punched, but then realized he had been stabbed, according to police.

Gibson was taken to an area hospital and McQuire was arrested and remains in the Monroe County Jail.
