MOUNDSVILLE -- A 50 year tradition of enteraining kids around the holidays, is coming to an end at Moundsville VFW Post 473.
Since smoking is allowed it means kids under the age of 18 cannot be, according to the Marshall County Health Department and the Clean Air Act of 2002.
Carla Catlett, VFW bar manager, is very upset over this decision.
Smoking is only allowed in the bar and the dance hall is an adjoining room. Catlett points out there is a front entrance so people don’ t have to come through the canteen.
A spokesperson for the health department said they are trying to work with the VFW so they can continue carrying out activities in a separate room.
