A Hunter is Found Dead in Jefferson County

SMITH TWP, OHIO -- Jefferson County dispatchers in Ohio say a hunter was found dead in a tree in their county Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the tree in Smith Township off of Township Road Twenty. The sheriff's office says they are unsure if the victim fell or had a heart attack, but it doesn't look like foul play took part in this incident.

The name is not being released until next of kin is contacted.

The investigation is still underway and the scene has been cleared.
