WHEELING -- A woman has been charged with embezzlement from the Warwood Kroger, where she was employed for 13 years, according to documents in the Ohio County Magistrate's Office.

The reports reveal that Joan Smith of Warwood Terrace is charged with embezzling more than $3,800 from her register.

Kroger officials reportedly told Wheeling Police that Smith's registers had been short at various times from May through September 2009.

They also gave police a video reportedly showing Smith taking money from the register on two separate occasions.

Smith waived her right to a preliminary hearing yesterday and her case was bound over to circuit court.
