WEIRTON -- A fugitive on the run has been spotted in Weirton but got away into the woods, according to authorities.
Donald Joe Gaschler, 41, was spotted Wednesday near the Heather Moore Apartments on Linton Road, the U.S. Marshals Service said. When officers arrived Gaschler took off into the woods, they added.
Gaschler did not show up over a week ago to be sentenced on a heroin and gun conviction.
He is 5-feet, 10-inches tall, and weighs 200 pounds. Gaschler has green eyes, brown hair and tattoos on both arms, his chest and back. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt and light blue running pants when last seen, authorities said.
If you know where Gaschler is you are asked to contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 304-232-2980.
