ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio -- A Belmont County gas station manager says three masked men threatened him with a knife, but he claims he fought them off.
Naji Abboud told sheriff's deputies he was leaving Buckeye Fuel & Food to deposit the station's money at 11:02 p.m. Thursday when three men came up to him, waved a knife and indicated they wanted the money.
According to Belmont County 911 officials, Abboud said he hung onto the money, but suffered facial injuries in the process.
He says the men were all 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 180-200 pounds.
He said their faces and heads were covered and he can give no descriptions and that they never actually spoke, so he can't describe their voices.
Abboud said they got away in an older model black pickup truck.
Officials said Abboud refused treatment at the scene, saying he would drive himself to the hospital.
