WHEELING -- The big snow storm hitting the country moved into the western Great Lakes Wednesday.
The Ohio Valley will be on the warm side of the system until this afternoon. Temperatures were relatively warm Wednesday morning but as that cold front passed through we saw temperatures drop into the mid-thirties.
As the colder air rushed into the valley, winds gusted to possibly 60 mph. Thermometers readings dropped rapidly Wednesday afternoon.
Standing water from the Tuesday night rain could freeze in many communities Wednesday night and Thursday, producing some patchy slippery spots. Snowfall amounts are expected to be light during the period. Temperatures should finally go back above freezing Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
