According to Bellaire police, the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute.

BELLAIRE, Ohio -- Bellaire Police were called to 4277 Harrison Street today to a report of a shooting.
Officers arriving within one minute of the call arrested Ronald D. Byard, 62 of the same address.
Byard was taken into custody at gunpoint.
The victim Eric Wheeler, 18, who had been residing at the address for about two months was found on the floor of the second story bedroom with a gunshot wound to the left chest area.
Police believe Wheeler was shot with a 12 gauge shotgun.
Police say Wheeler was unresponsive when the squad arrived and an assistant from the coroner's office was called to the scene.
Byard was taken to the Bellaire Police Headquaters and processed, interviewed, and transported to the Belmont County Jail where is charged with murder with a $20,000.00 bond set.
Police say initial information received is that the shooting stems from a domestic violence situation.
An eight year old was believed to be in the residence at the time of the shooting.
The investigation is continuing.
