A local technology company introduces new services as they celebrate 25 years in business.
Wheeling-based HGO Technology started out replacing main frames with personal computers.
By staying on the leading edge instead of what they call the bleeding edge, they are positioning themselves to serve businesses in the future.
Many in the Ohio Valley recognize HGO as their first internet service provider.
Wednesday, the company announced new services for small businesses with 10 to 25 computers that are normally only offered to Fortune 500 companies.
"In the past, we've done what we've called 'break-fix', which means, when something breaks, you call me," says Elizabeth Gates, HGO Chief Technology Officer. "Today, we're looking at offering a new 'managed services', trying to be proactive, rather than reactive."
Gates went on to attribute her company's success over the past 25 years to having a keen sense of what's current in the business and knowing when to shift away from technology on a downward slope.
