The end of November brought an end also to another class for the Wheeling Police Academy.
Wheeling Police Chief Robert Matheny brought the concept of a police class for community members with him when he took over the force.
This is the fifth class to go through the program. A graduation ceremony was held at Generations restaurant in Elm Grove for the 12 members of the class on Tuesday.
Wheeling Police officers say academy helps them in their efforts.
The ten week program gives interested residents a behind-the-scenes look at police work and encourages them to take a greater interest in their neighborhood.
