Officials shut down I-70 eastbound from Exit 5 at Elm Grove to Claysville, causing major traffic backups Saturday.
According to Sgt. Kettler of the Wheeling Police Department a tractor trailer overturned near the Pennsylvania-West Virginia border just passed West Alexander.
Officials with The West Virginia Department of Highways said the incident happened around 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

The Pennsylvania State Police say the truck veered off the road into the drainage ditch, spilling the materials it was carrying into the ditch.
The substance spilled, they say, is a material used to make Glue.
Authorities say crews were still cleaning up the scene Saturday night and they expect the road to be closed until they get everything cleared.
7 News has learned the driver was a 59-year-old man from Lewisburg, West Virginia. No injuries were reported.
