Man's Body Found in Ohio when Garbage Truck Dumped

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -

A man's body has been found in Ohio after trash was dumped from a garbage truck at a disposal company's transfer station.

Media outlets report that police say Rumpke waste removal employees found the body of 45-year-old Dean Reinhard at the Columbus station on Wednesday. Investigators say his death does not appear suspicious.

Police say Reinhard may have been in a trash container to escape the cold or look for cardboard when it was lifted by the garbage truck and dumped into its compactor.

Police Sgt. Rich Weiner says police don't know an address for Reinhard, but that his next of kin lives locally.

Rumpke spokesman Todd Wielinski tells the Associated Press the company is reviewing policy that doesn't require drivers to look inside trash containers before they are tipped.
