WHEELING -
The sale of the Wheeling Nailers is still the big talk of the town here in the Ohio Valley.
7 News spoke with General Manager Craig Bommer, who said the amount of support the team has gotten over the past few weeks has been tremendous.
He says they packed in 7,000 fans for the games last weekend, and have received tons of tweets, phone calls and messages showing support all over the region.
Bommer said he feels a lot more confident than he did two weeks ago, now that three or four local groups have come forward to show interest in the team.
From here it's just a matter of finding the right fit.
According to Bommer, all the financial paperwork was sent out to potential owners. "They're going to have a week or so to review them and then ownership will meet with them and start weeding out who's serious and who's not," he says.
Bommer said they have until the end of March to make a decision, but that we should have a pretty good idea in the next three weeks.
