Homeowners in Belmont County have not had it easy over the past couple months, as a rash of home burglaries have taken place.

On Monday Belmont County Prosecutor Chris Berhalter sent a strong warning to those thinking about committing those crimes.

"The numbers of burglaries that have been reported and investigated over the past year have been the highest numbers they've been in the last eight years, " Berhalter added.

Four suspects were charged with burglary, including Lawrence Henry, who faces the most serious charges of 15 counts if burglary, one count of breaking and entering, and one count of receiving stolen property.

Following his press conference Berhalter told WTRF.com, "we are fortunate to have a dedicated group of law enforcement in this county."

In addition to Henry, there were several other arrests including Dustin Childers, Brian White, Steven Richards, and Benjamin Primis.

These latest arrests came through a joint effort with the Sheriff's Department, Martins Ferry Police Department, and the Belmont County Prosecutor's office.
