
Pittsburgh Steelers back-up tight end Weslye Saunders will miss the first four games of 2012, as the NFL suspended the rookie four games for violating its policy on performance enhancing substances.
Saunders can take part in all preseason games and practices up until his suspension begins Sept. 1.
Saunders,an undrafted rookie free agent out of South Carolina, caught four passes for 29 yards and a touchdown in 2011.
The Steelers also signed CB Myron Rolle, who spent the entire 2010 season on the practice squad of the Tennessee Titans and was released at the end of training camp in 2011. WR Juamorris Stewart joins the Steelers after spending part of the 2010 offseason with the Arizona Cardinals. Pittsburgh also signed LB Brandon Hicks after he was with the Buffalo Bills during their 2011 training camp.
The Steelers have terminated the contracts of CB Bryant McFadden and WR Arnaz Battle. Pittsburgh also waived TE Miguel Chavis and LB Erik Clanton.
