MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -
West Virginia University is seeking to immediately stop a Morgantown company's production and sale of T-shirts the university claims violates its trademarks.
WVU sued Miva-Man, operating as Fastees, in U.S. District Court last month. On Thursday the university filed a motion seeking an order to have the T-shirts taken off the market.
Fastees owner Kevin Ford said Thursday he's going to abide by however a judge rules on the university's request.
Most of the T-shirts are in the school's gold-and-blue color scheme. Among the issues cited by the university are the words "West Virginia" when used in reference to WVU.
Ford says the state's name is on the T-shirts and doesn't imply a reference to the university.
