The Wheeling Nailers defeated the Trenton Titans for the eight time this season with a 4-2 victory at WesBanco Arena on Saturday night.
With an Elmira victory, the Nailers and Jackals remained tied for first place atop the Atlantic Division.
Wheeling's Andrew Hotham set up the first two Nailers goals from Peter Merth (3) and Matt Schepke, who scored his 9th goal of the season, but first since joining the Nailers in a trade with Reading a couple of weeks ago.
Trenton rallied to tie the game at 2-2 in the third period, but Denver Manderson scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal, his 12th, at 1:25 into the third period.
Cody Chupp added an empty-netter (12) to complete the scoring.
Nailers goaltender Peter Delmas made 35 saves for the win.
